I’ve been having trouble keeping up with the news about AI in mathematics, so I decided to have AI help me keep up with it.

I set up a weekly scheduled task in ChatGPT to gather and summarize freely available news articles, blog posts, and YouTube videos about AI in mathematical research, teaching, and learning. The result is my AI and mathematics digest, with a new installment each Saturday covering the previous week. Each entry links to its source so you can follow up on whatever catches your interest. The summaries are generated by ChatGPT and may contain errors or omissions, so I view them as starting points for reading.

Alongside the digest, I’m maintaining a mathematics advocacy collection. This grew out of another weekly task I had already created: finding articles and evidence that could help me make the case for mathematics in conversations with university administrators. The collection goes beyond AI, and entries accumulate with summaries and talking points. I’ve already put it to good use in a meeting with administrators.

Feel free to share the links, steal the idea for yourself, or send me suggestions for articles, posts, and videos to include!
